At the bottom of a massive underground dump, a sentient pile of sludge is born. After finding a discarded book that shows photographs of the surface, they decide to make the journey upward to see the outside world.

Escape the Underground is still in development, but I hope you all enjoy this little demo. If you want to follow the development, you can follow me on twitter @JoeRenglish.

This is a pretty solid platformer! The controls feel great and the camera control is really helpful. That being said, I'd seriously suggest adding some checkpoints or splitting this into separate levels. The difficulty ramps up quickly and having to re-start from the beginning is quite demotivating.

Can't wait to play  the finished version though!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate the feedback.

The levels do not have checkpoints intentionally, because in the final game there will be a running timer (I took it out for the demo) so that you can get better at the levels and bring your time down. I do agree that some of the harder levels can be frustrating, but none of the levels take more than a minute to beat so I hope the players will learn how to quickly get through them over repeated tries.
